Mathilda & Mary
Mathilda, known around the barn as Matti, is my 13-year old American Warmblood. She is a draft-cross from Canada and her sire was a Hungarian Warmblood and dam was a Percheron/TB.
Matti has been barefoot almost 10 years now! She has been the ideal student for me to learn my trimming technique on and has shown me both the ways of my mistakes and of my success when it comes to trimming. I cannot thank her enough for all she has given me over these years.
Mathilda and I have succesfully competed at First Level and recently finished our 2009 show season with a 3rd place finish for USDF All-Breeds AWS First Level and 7th place finish for NEDA Section 8 First Level. Our season for 2010 will be at Second Level with a possible musical freestyle. You can see us compete at NEDA Spring, GMHA and NEDA Fall.
Matti is the perfect example of a barefoot athlete that not only keeps up with the rest, but can beat some of them too!
